Dr. Bentley Gibson received her B.A. in Psychology and obtained her Ph.D. in Cognition and Development Psychology, specifically focusing on the development of unconscious/implicit bias from childhood to adulthood. She is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology, where she continues teaching and conducting her research in the area of unconscious/implicit bias. She has conducted extensive research on the impact of unconscious/implicit bias on institutions and effective strategies to mitigate bias in order to create a more inclusive climate.
Brian Flaccus is an award winning writer, producer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. His background in academic linguistics inspires the importance of language in his work and the use of diverse modes of speaking and thinking. With over 40 film credits to his name and dozens of film festival awards, he has shifted focus on creating films for targeted solutions, combining art with purpose. In 2023 two of his short films qualified for the Academy Awards, and his film These Final Hours, was nominated for an NAACP Image Award. Both of these films are now used in academic and corporate settings to teach tolerance and empathy. Brian has begun to reincorporate his interest in academics to design studies that prove the power of film to affect real world change. He is now working with several professors of linguistics and psychology to quantify the lasting power of film to change racial attitudes.
Shan Harris received his degree in Business Innovation & Strategy from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, he now currently works in Los Angeles as an award winning filmmaker and producer. With his continued education in DEI, his focus today is building culture-driven team processes on film sets and workplaces to help lift the voices of underrepresented populations in the US and beyond.
